CAM 01 – Job Site Perimeter
A construction site is at its most exposed exactly when it has no infrastructure — no power, no network, no perimeter, and a rotating cast of trades and deliveries. Copper, fuel, tools and equipment leave in the window between mobilization and the building being closed in.

Operations run on aircraft schedules rather than business hours, which means a security system here has no quiet period to work with — there is no time of day when movement on site is automatically suspicious, so analytics have to be built around zones and behaviour rather than schedules.

Site geometry changes constantly. Fixed infrastructure installed at mobilization ends up watching the wrong ground by the time the structure is up. Relocatable units on a plan that anticipates each phase outperform a permanent install specified once against a drawing.
Continuous high-bitrate streaming over LTE is expensive and unreliable at the edge of coverage. The workable pattern is recording locally at full quality, streaming only on alarm or on demand, and keeping live view at a reduced rate. Size the data plan from that, not from continuous streaming.
The same cameras that cover theft produce a dated visual record of the build. That record settles disputes about what was in the ground before the slab went down, when a trade actually arrived, and what condition the site was left in. It is regularly worth more than the deterrent value it was bought for.

Solar output drops sharply in December and January at this latitude, so units serving Ontario sites need battery capacity sized for short days and overcast weeks, often with a hybrid supply. A system specified on summer figures will fail in the first long cold snap.
